In April of 2020, as I was quarantining at home and looking for ways to pass the time and quell the existential dread of a global pandemic, I had an idea to paint a mural on my backyard fence. Though this was something I had never done before, I felt confident that my background in both painting and graphic design would allow me to bring my vision to life. I did my research, took an online workshop, made lots of sketches, and got to work. In the end, I was super proud of myself for pulling it off and having fun while doing it. I posted the mural on my social media channels, and to my surprise, requests for mural jobs started rolling in. Thus began my journey as a freelance muralist. Now, I have designed and painted over 15 murals – from fences, to interior walls, to front porch steps.
